SFSI attended the launch of the 2024 Irish Aid Annual Report

SFSI Head, David Butler, attended the launch of the Government of Ireland Official Development Assistance (ODA) Annual Report 2024 on the 19th September 2025. This year is a significant milestone for Irish Aids work overseas as it marks 50 years since the inception of our ODA programme, and the highest levels of such assistance ever provided.
In 2024, this ODA supported more than 8 Million people in more than 100 countries, greater than the entire population of the Island of Ireland. Ireland is committed to play our part in providing such crucial international support through the provision of direct humanitarian aid, partnerships and advocacy programmes with our partners, both at UN and EU and local level. Our focus remains on aiding those furthest behind, particularly in Sub Saharan Africa and South East Asia.
As critical funding has been systematically cut across the globe in recent times, it is more crucial than ever that we continue to lead by example. SFSI continues to support capacity in food systems, value chain development and food safety work in key ODA priority countries. Key projects include:
Zambia Food Systems Transformation (ZISSP)
Ireland-Vietnam Agri-food Partnership (IVAP)
Ireland Malawi Agri-food Systems Programme (IMAGRI)
